We now publish 9 formats for our embroidery and applique designs: DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PEC, PES, VP3, VIP, XXX. Some of our older designs may not have all 9 formats published. To request a design be updated to include any of these formats, please email support@designedbygeeks.com or fill out our Contact Form.

These designs are not hand embroidery or appliqué designs nor are they finished patches. Thus, you must have a computerized embroidery machine in order to use our designs.

All placement and tack down steps are completed before the satin stitch. Steps are separated by color changes. Please do not color sort or combine colors. If you are using a multi-needle machine, please set it to stop for color changes. Exceptions are clearly marked and usually occur when an element is intended to appear behind another element and those two elements are two different colors. (Eg.: A turtle’s legs meant to appear to be underneath a turtle’s shell.) Some of our older designs were separated by Stop commands instead of color changes. This may cause extra jump stitches on some machines. If you notice extra jump stitches please email info@designedbygeeks.com or fill out our Contact Form. Please review the file in your software before stitching it out.

A Note About ART Files

We do not offer ART files at this time. Most Bernina machines will read PES and EXP files. Newer machines may also read DST files. Older machines such as the Bernina Artista 170E / 180E, Bernina Artista 185 QEE, Bernina Artista 200E, Bernina Artista 165E (Heritage Edition), and the Bernina Aurora 435 may only read ART files. If you do not have the appropriate software to open these files, you may try downloading Bernina Artlink. Please consult your manufacturer or retailer for more information about the file formats compatible with your device.
